From 6 week mini courses and full semester courses on Wednesday nights, to monthly seminars that pay you a stipend for participating, MAKOM offers a wide variety of learning options for you to choose from. All MAKOM classes emphasize learning through doing and engage our students in the arts, drama, music, and technology.

Madrichim Institute
One Sunday a month from 10-12
Begins on September 25.
For teens working as teacher’s aides in Sunday schools, Hebrew schools, or local Jewish pre-schools or counselors or CITs at Jewish camps
In partnership with Brandeis University, Challenge yourself in a variety of educational techniques, including drama, the arts, experiential learning, and museum education, apply what you have learned back to your schools, and earn a $200 stipend for successfully completing the program.Click here to view and download the Madrichim Institute application

MAKOM’s first online course!
The History of Israel
Instructor: Rich Walter
Begins October 3rd – 12 weeks through December23rd
Cost: $100Learn at your own pace 24/7 in this new online course which will explore the origins of Zionism, the early settlements in the State, the 1948 War of Independence, early state period, impact of the Six Day War, the peace process, the absorption of Russian and Ethiopian immigrants, and the development of the modern state through primary sources and discussion. Requirements: A computer with an internet connection.
NEW Cafe Israel
Join our Israeli Emissaries Raz and Yuval in this new monthly program that will connect you to Israel. Each month we will approach Israel from a different hands-on angle using film, literature, technology, and more.
Cafe Israel will meet monthly on Tuesday evenings 7:30-9:00
Cost $10 per session or $45 for the series (not including June 3rd Trip to New York).

Adopt-A-Survivor -Through meetings & interviews with a Holocaust Survivor, you will immerse yourself in stories about their childhood, lives, and the triumph of the human spirit. Adopt-A-Survivor meets Wednesday evenings during Wednesday Night MAKOM. Fees: $400 or free as part of registration in Wednesday Night MAKOM
